- Does not refer to himself as the “Voice of the Tigers” as he believes that Jim Philips will always be the “Voice”
- Don’s college roommate Mike Gore got him into broadcasting at Appalachian St. University
- His Dad was born in Atlanta and was a Presbyterian minister and worked in a radio ministry and his faith came from a very young age
- Love of sports began early because his parents loved sports
- As a kid, Bobby Orr was a hero and is on his bucket list of people to meet
- Hank Aaron is also on his bucket list but Joe Torre was his favorite player on the Braves
- He was involved in drama in high school and loved being on stage and somewhat of a natural ham
- Believes that Dabo Swinney is one of the greatest servant leaders he’s ever been around
- His faith has deepened because of his special needs daughter Michelle
- The hope is for him and his wife Elizabeth to start a foundation
