- Baseball was probably his favorite sport at first but eventually knew that basketball would be the sport he could play in college

- Made a family decision to not pursue coaching because they didn’t want to move across the country in pursuit of jobs
- Started broadcasting college basketball games on the side while working full-time as a lawyer
