- Rich Spotlight: Bob Richey
- Coaching against Coach K at Duke brought back memories as a kid thinking that one day he wanted to be a college basketball coach and now it was reality
- Watching Eddie Fogler coach at South Carolina as a kid was the first time he thought about having a career in coaching but it wasn’t until he was 23-years old that he decided to take the leap into coaching
- First memories of playing sports was a yellow basketball and he became hooked on basketball eventually playing on the Division II level at North Greenville University
- Barclay Radebaugh at Charleston Southern gave him his first coaching break where he quickly took it upon himself to get involved in recruiting based on the advice of current UCLA assistant coach Duane Broussard
- Left Charleston Southern for Furman and stayed on staff during a coaching change when Niko Medved was hired
- Coach Medved gave him advice that he needed to start thinking like a head coach and when Coach Medved accepted the head coaching position at Drake Bob was promoted to head coach at Furman in April 2017
- His faith is a cornerstone of his life as he also focuses on the concept of “Grow the Person, Grow the Program” where he’s building a culture of investing into the development of the players in all walks of life
- Words of Wisdom from Bob Richey: “Don’t focus on approval so much, focus on authenticity.”
