- Rich Spotlight: Woody Dantzler
- Was not a true college or pro football fan growing up in Orangeburg, SC as his first idol was Bruce Lee
- Began excelling in track and field and started learning the importance of technique while learning to throw the javelin
- True motivation while playing sports was not to win but to never let his teammates down
- Rick Stockstill is the only reason he decided to sign with Clemson
- Learning the complexity of the college game was a big challenge as he redshirts his freshman year where Brandon Streeter and Nealon Greene were very influential in his development
- Eventually becomes the starting QB at Clemson and becomes the first QB in NCAA history to pass for over 2,000 yards and rush for over 1,000 yards in a single season
- He came to his faith after Head Coach Tommy West was fired and Tommy Bowden was hired
- Decided to continue his playing career to see how far it could take him and he trusted that God would open doors and allow him to use his platform to connect others with Christ
- While he loves coaching people, he never had the desire to be a coach because of everything else involved with coaching
- Words of Wisdom from Woody Dantzler: “No matter the situation, no matter what has happened you have a choice.”
