Kendall Joseph | 2x National Champion Clemson University Linebacker
Show Notes:
- Transition is very tough because he has been defined by football even though he didn’t want to be defined by football
- Finding peace in life though now that football is over knowing that it wasn’t in God’s plan for him
- Soccer was the first sport he remembers playing because his dad loved soccer as an immigrant from Haiti
- After the 9th grade, he decided to only play football even though he also loved basketball
- Originally was going to commit to Duke but changed his mind after a 2 1/2 hour phone conversation with Coach Brent Venables and then his grandfather who said that he felt it in his spirit that Kendall should attend Clemson University
- His first start at Auburn in 2016 was one of his most memorable games outside of winning two national championships
- The bus ride is much more of an experience than actually running down the hill
- Parents got divorced and his relationship with his dad was rocky initially but they have made amends and repaired the relationship
- The culture at Clemson is all about holding men accountable
- Getting named team captain by his teammates was a big honor his senior season
- Sports has exposed him to so many different opportunities from friendships, relationships, dealing with failure to winning championships
