- Ovie has probably had upwards of 100 concussions in his career but did not qualify for the NFL concussion settlement
- Believes that there are pros and cons to the game of football and focuses on the pros
- Would allow his kids to play but not full contact football until the 9th grade
- Loved the warrior mentality from his Nigerian heritage and would act like a crazed warrior on the field
- He was all set to follow his dad in the medical profession as a doctor until NFL scouts were interested in him during his senior season at Wake Forest University
- Has always wanted to prove his doubters wrong but had many times in his career when he doubted himself
- Deion Sanders was a major help and mentor during his rehab from an injury early in his career
- Being selected to his first Pro Bowl was a huge God moment in his life and faith has been a part of his life since childhood
- Started the Ovie Mughelli Foundation in 2008 and the Gridiron Green comic was inspired by his love of the comic/cartoon Captain Planet
- For him, sports is love, creates relationships and an outlet to be the best version of yourself
