- Rich Spotlight: Chad Wilson
- Grew up in New York and also a portion of his early childhood in Trinidad
- Soccer was his first sport which eventually would help him develop footwork for playing football
- After moving to Florida, football became a passion after seeing guys wearing jerseys at school on game days and girls seemed to gravitate towards those guys
- Moved to California to be with his dad in high school and would have to play on the JV football team during his Junior year before moving to varsity
- Signed to play with Long Beach St. University to play under legendary coach Georg Allen
- Became part of the “U” fraternity in 1992 after he transferred to the University of Miami when the football program at Long Beach St. was disbanded
- Regrets not pursuing other NFL opportunities instead of focusing on the opportunity with Dennis Erickson and the Seattle Seahawks because he didn’t push himself out of his comfort zone
- While coaching high school football, he started helping players with video highlights to be used for sending to coaches and thus the idea of Gridiron Studs was born
- Gridiron Studs is now available as an app allowing players to connect with coaches for exposure
- Sports helped develop structure, organization, and has applied so many things from sports and the game of football into his life
- Words of Wisdom from Chad Wilson: “Don’t be ordinary and nobody owes you anything.”
