- NSMA moved to Winston-Salem 2-years ago and Winston-Salem has an underrated sports vibe
- Growing up in Boston, Dave remembers reading the sports section at an early age and always loved the stories much more than the stats
- Has always loved how sports connects people together and the stories behind the games do just that
- After graduating from Syracuse University, he would eventually make his way to Providence, RI before finally getting an opportunity to be a sports anchor in 1988 at WXII in Winston-Salem
- Loved being a reporter much more than anchor because as a reporter you can create stories
- Hockey is his favorite sport and covering the Carolina Hurricanes after their Stanley Cup win is still one of his greatest thrills
- Loves teaching as a professor at Wake Forest University and bringing in guests to help develop the next generation of sportscasters and sports reporters
