  • Rich Spotlight: Rachel Baribeau
    • Rachel comes from a sports family and as far as she can remember sports was always on the TV
    • Her brothers were into all types of sports and jokingly she feels her claim to fame is church volleyball
    • Originally she thought that she wanted to be a general assignment reporter
    • Attended Auburn University and was immediately hooked on sports reporting after interviewing Auburn baseball head coach as a student
    • A pivotal decision in her career was to be a freelance reporter for sports rather than take a general reporter in TV
    • Managed a hair salon early in her career as she was still working for free for local sports radio
    • Has focused on creating her own narrative rather than having someone else shape her narrative
    • Founded Changing the Narrative simply known as #changingthenarrative to empower athletes to create their own narrative for good
    • Loves sports because of the human element within sports and the personal stories
